Pool party Qiyana
I wanted to create a fun and summery themed skin for this champion, to work alongside other the pool party designs already in the game. Transforming her ring blade weapon into an oversized inflatable pool ring worked well, and using bright saturated colours to clarify her use of elemental powers compliments the bright and bubbly design. I wanted to emphasize her sassy and showoff-ish nature in the clothing, being cool and breezy while looking better than everyone else. Just don’t mention the floatie armbands to her.
Star guardian Gragas
The Star guardian skin line is an expansion of the magical girl aesthetic, think Sailor moon or Tokyo mew mew, filled with sparkles, ribbons and pink frills. I designed this themed skin for the champion Gragas, an oversized, clumsy drunkard. I wanted to challenge myself with the contrast of the champion and skin concept, keeping the final design lighthearted while also still being consistent and cohesive.
Arcade Vex
While Vex is a relatively new champion to the game, and doesn’t have many skins for her model, I wanted to try designing something new for this little Yordle. The Arcade and Battle Boss skins often feature retro pixellated graphics and poppy 80’s colourways. So I wanted to bring this over to Vex’s design. The idea of the shadow being a hologram, fading in and out with fractured and pixellated graphics would work effectively, as well as the long dragging sleeves working well with a funky vintage hoodie.
